Dieses Druckverfahren ist auch als Schmelzschichtungsverfahren bekannt. Zuerst erhitzt der 3D-Drucker das Filament, bis es in einem fast flüssigen Zustand ist. Anschliessend presst das System diese Masse durch eine Düse. Der entstehende feine Faden dient zur Erstellung der einzelnen Schichten.
